Milwaukee relocation: best hospitals

U.S.A. Wisconsin

Published

I am relocating to Milwaukee from Madison next year (2015). I have 4 years experience in progressive cardiac/stepdown care, and one year as a mobile unit nurse (mostly postpartum experience). In Madison, I enjoy a good patient ratio (4 pts on the PM shift), very good pay, good work environment, educational opportunities, good benefits, etc.... I'm reluctant to leave this behind. Which hospitals in Milwaukee are best in terms of good patient-RN ratio, safe and supportive work environment, and pay rate? Which are horrible for RNs to work in?

The Milwaukee VA is pretty amazing, I feel blessed to work there.

What area do you want to work in?

I currently work in the ICU but worked on a med-surg floor and the PCU, I have always loved my job but I must say now that I am in the ICU I can't see myself being anywhere else.
