I had cpr class last night. About 30% of the class wore low rise jeans. That meant everytime they had to bend over and practice cpr, I had to look at their butt cracks . Its hard to look away because you constantly want to watch what their doing.... It drove me crazy!!!!!

So to those of you planning to take cpr class soon, please... please.... no low rise. ok. Great.

Ok vent over.

I had CPR the other night and a girl in my group had on (light) khaki pants and a black thong. I swear people don't own full length mirrors anymore.

I'll bet a handful of them do, and still think the world wants to see their booty. Bleck!

heh heh.

maybe they should all have been wearing "mom jeans".

clicky and appreciate:

If you see people walking around with their thong or buttcracks showing- and I see it daily- common sense would tell you to make sure you're that your own butt is covered so the whole world can't see it. But I'm starting to believe these young ladies WANT people to see their butts. I went to a training class a month ago and this young lady who was overweight managed to squeeze her LEGS ONLY into a pair of tight low-rise jeans. When she sat down, half of her big behind was showing and when she stood up half of it was still hanging out. She knew her pants were too low because she would try to pull them up as high as she could. When we had to stand around a table to watch a demonstration, I accidently dropped my pen. This girl, very stiff backed, with one hand pulling down the back of her shirt, and VERY slowly, picked my pen up for me.:imbar I mean, come on!

I agree. I'm so sick of seeing people's butt cracks. Also, what's with the new too-tight fashion trend that shows every. single. torso. fat roll? Please! Wear clothes that fit!

*getting into my high-rise, relaxed fit, elastic waisted jeans now......* ;)

I am praying hard for the pendulum of fashion to swing back the other way. I wear a 0 in jeans, petites are too short, and the only thing I can find are low rise. There are no "mom jeans" for sale in that size. I do have my old ones I used to wear in the 80s, but don't want to get laughed at. So I wear long tops and hope for the best. It might be that some of the smaller girls, depending on their torso shapes, couldn't find anything but low rise even if they tried.

Ha! I do wear mid-rise and my butt hangs out of those!!! It's hard to find pants. But, (no pun) I will say I do have a few pairs of shorts/pants that don't show the great divide and it's common sense to wear those. This thread is great.

LOL this thread is hilarious. I do have to say, that as a "high crack" girl, it is ridiculously hard trying to find any pants that are not low rise. I think they are all that I own, as I can't find any others that will fit the hips and waist as good. That being said, I will wear a long shirt that will cover any exposure at CPR. If anyone still sees it, I apologize in advance. I tried. :D

Oh Lord! This is classic! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I'm a big girl, and I make no apologies for it. But you better believe my scrubs FIT, ain't nothing hanging OUT, it is all tucked IN, hiked UP and pinned BACK!

I work in a neurological and trauma ICU. I don't know from shift to shift if it'll only be holding over a 400 pound trauma victim while we clean poop or if I'll be full bore climbing into the CT to do CPR! Ain't nothing glamorous or sexy about any of that, and my one male coworker is very married, as am I, so there is no need to show anything around there!

Nursing school, IMHO, really need to do a better job of teaching professional appearance. My initial nursing school experience was in an LPN program in the earlly 90's...and our instructors were old school. We didn't wear caps, but believe me...it was everything short of it. We had panty-check, hair check, makeup, nail and jewelry check...all of it, every morning before clinical.

To their credit, most of the instructors told us up front to carry an extra pair of clothes, complete with underwear, with us, because you never knew what would happen throughout the day in patient care. They also kept bobby pins handy to help us keep hair off collars, the director kept a sewing kit in her bag to fix "wardrobe malfunctions", and they all had feminine hygeine products. :) We were their ducklings, they took care of us and taught us well.

Our director is long gone - died 2 years ago - but the students there now? Sloppy, unprofessional, and I know Mrs. H. is rolling over in her grave!

Advice to the new students that will cover you in just about any situation:

1) Get a full lengtrh mirror - 15 bucks at WalMart.

2) Use it. Every day before you leave the house. Turn around, check your panty and shoulder line. VPL's are forgiveable in some circumstances and unavoidable in some situations, but if you have them, please make sure they cover your entire hiney. Work is not the place to be advertising for a new hiney-buddy.

3) If you have ANY question whether something is appropriate or not...IT ISN'T!

If you see people walking around with their thong or buttcracks showing- and I see it daily- common sense would tell you to make sure you're that your own butt is covered so the whole world can't see it. I am so sorry, but that was too funny...(but I know it wasn't at the time). I have seen that sight a thousand times...esp. when the low rise craze started circa 2001. Which is probably why I wear specs :D.

I absolutely have to wear low rise jeans because of the way my torso is shaped....I'm not sure what I'd do without low rise jeans. That being said, I am definitely kind enough to wear long shirts because I don't want to provide a show for everyone around me :D
