Why does Nursing have to be a passion?

Is it necessary for nursing to be a passion? Why?

Fair point but from what I've experienced in the world of nursing the idea of it being a "calling" is falling by the wayside. Probably a good thing considering what a mess it is right now.

Nursing as a “calling” is a made up term from colleges trying to suck government backed loan money from wide-eye college students.
