So when I was in nursing school I LOVED my geriatrics section of nursing school, I loved going to the LTC and taking care of those people ill and old and needing lots of love and care.
When I was a young child I remember I was probably about 5, visiting my great grandma, Big Ningy was my nickname for her. She was in a nursing home, and I LOVED it there. Everytime I visited her and sat with her for a while I would ask my mother if I could go talk to the "old people" and I did. And I loved how they loved to talk to me, and listened to me etc. I loved it because I knew I was making them happy by talking to them for those few minutes
As a child I never felt comfortable around people my own age, child, teen, even in 20's. I would always be more comfortable sitting and talking and listening to my mom and her friends talk when i was about 5-10, I just loved it.
I didn't like acute care in nursing school I found it boring. I found LTC more adrenaline rushing and loved that you had to have organizational skills and basically you're it, no docs on board you're it.
I love LTC and always feel home at LTC
I did home health and hospice for years. But I still love LTC>
Why did you choose LTC?
