Albuterol( a bronchodilator) is a drug which dilates the bronchial tubes and relaxes the smooth muscle. It helps for bronchitis and emphysema only if there is a a spasm component to the disease. It does not in any way treat the symptoms of bronchitis and emphysema better than asthma. Albuterol is indicated forthe treatment of asthma

Homework much?
Why yes and no. I am a former respiratory therapist so lungs I know.....its just the rest of the body I need to learn about.
And before someone posts...why are you no longer a respiratory therapist..my answer is because while working as a respiratory therapist (which was great) I began to see what a nurse does and I thought THAT IS WHAT I REALLY WANT TO DO FOR THE REST OF MY WORKING LIFE...

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume cmonkey is asking the same thing I've been thinking. The OP likes to ask questions like this and waits for answers. They sound suspiciously like homework questions and since she/he doesn't bother offering any insight into them before posting them to us, I don't bother answering.
@shanfuturenurse: oh thanks for that I didn't realize it was a homework question for other people.
