Who's moving to another city/out of state for Nursing School?

I'm moving from Sacramento, CA to Los Angeles, CA to start nursing school in August!!!

Haven't packed a thing though....better get started though :)

I feel your pain :crying2: Although I am happy that I finally go accepted into a BSN program, I am still in denial about the biggest move of my life so far. I am moving from the Bay Area (Northern CA) to New Yprk this August!

I am moving about 300 miles to attend a BSN program. And i have not even found a place to live yet!! Ahhh!! Im going next weekend to hopefully find a place. . but yes I am very stressed out! Especially since i am waiting for my financial aid to process so i can move forward with my student loans. . Ughh!! School doesnt start until Sep 9th for me, so i do have a little bit of time, but Im still stressing . I know exactly what you mean about skipping the whole stress/packing/moving part and just be in my new place ready to start school . .

Hi!

I'm moving within the state of CA for school. I think I'm in a state of denial; I forgot how horrible moving is! I agree that I've basically forgotten to worry about school starting in August though, which may be good. I'm still trying to decide what to take, and what to leave behind. Luckily, I can leave stuff at my mom's house.

I am NOT happy about the expense of moving though. Also, the added stress of not knowing anyone in the new city/school etc is a down side.

I'm sure we'll all survive the process, and be better people for it!

That sucks yea I'm moving 1300 miles but I already have an apartment and will be signing a lease next week and already have my financial aid for my school. So everything financially is set for me for school. Just need to move...argh:angryfire ! LOL. I start orientation Aug 7th so I wanted to move to my new state a month ahead of time to get used to the city. Glad it's only a 10-15 minute ride to the school from my new apartment and Tulsa has the second fastest commute in the nation so don't have to worry about traffic. Hope everything works out well for you. Start calling apartments now so when you get there you can narrow down your list to like 5-8 places to look at it will be less stressful.

I moved from Roseville, CA to Chico, CA last semester and let me tell you that it has been hard thus far. You don't realize how nice it is to have family close to you until you don't have it anymore. Its also hard for me because I just got engaged in November and my fiance couldnt move down with me. So 3 years of being away from him and my family! But we do what we have to right?

Yea I hear ya about being away from your family and friends. I used to be in the Army so I'm used to moving to places and living in different states and countries since I was 17. All my immediate family members don't even live in this country so making friends is VERY easy for me but my close friends are like my family. So I don't think I'll have a problem making friends and not really worried on the loneliness.

But that would be very lonely being away from a fiance for that long. It will get better, because it has too;)

I'm moving from Atlanta to upstate NY. Talk about a change of weather...they have blizzards on a daily basis where my school is located and I'm also 5 months pregnant. It's a sacrifice but I rather start school now then to wait the 2-3 years waiting list that they have down here to start a program. My mother in law lives in NY so she will help me with the baby when he is born in November. I'm gonna miss my hubby and kids...but this sacrifce will pay off for them too in the long run.

Still haven't found a place...waiting to get all my financial loans/grants in place. I'm scared and a bit sad but I have to keep reminding myself that this is not forever.

I'm moving over 150 miles away from all of my family, my boyfriend, and my boyfriend's family, at some point in August, and I don't have a car. And I don't really know anybody in the city that I'm moving to yet (although eventually I will be joined by a couple of friends). My roommate and I put a deposit down on a place, and we just signed a lease, but I'm so nervous knowing that I will be so isolated from family for what seems like an eternity.

I just got approved for a private loan to cover the difference that my federal financial aid and scholarships don't cover. I just need to square away the final details with that. But I still feel so overwhelmed!
