Who's going to Anesthesia school?

We've had several threads from everyone saying they were accepted to various schools, but if everyone is willing let's do one big thread for everyone that will be starting anesthesia school this summer or fall. If you don't mind please include where you applied, the status from each school ( meaning didn't get an interview, interviewed and not accepted/made alternate/accepted), and the school you chose and why. Thanks, so much!

I applied to :

1) Medical College of Georgia- interviewed and made alternate

2) Samford (in Birmingham)- interviewed and accepted

3) University of Alabama at Birmingham- interviewed and accepted and will be going there this fall. I chose UAB because I loved the Director and all of their clinicals are in Birmingham, so I won't have to travel all over the state.

I applied to U of D Mercy last year-- made alternate.

This year applied to U of D and Wayne State U in Detroit. Turned down by WSU after the interview....

Who's going to Anesthesia school??? I AM!!! Can't tell you how excited and how freaked out I am. Glad I have a couple of months to go.

I am accepted at Florida International- Starting fall of 2008. Anyone else going there?

Me too! Right now it's hard to fathom what it's going to be like. I quit my FT job and went to another hospital to work PRN. The manager I interviewed with was VERY cool. She said she's had many, many nurses that worked for her that went to CRNA school & that she only had 1 who didn't listen to her when she warned that it would be next to impossible to work...and that nurse apparently was a no-call-no-show at times cuz she would study all night & forget she was scheduled!!!! She told me that she would keep me PRN to work holidays and a rare shift, but she in no way counted on me working during the semester. Seems like she's been thru it with many SRNA's so I decided to REALLY listen to her & believe her when she says "don't plan on working!" :thnkg:

Seriously! I've been working agency to make a few extra bucks to pay for like a sandwich or something....:) I'm about to be sooo broke! But its okay... it will be worth it! I'm going to stay on with my agency to "in theory" be able to work on holidays... However I'm not sure if that will happen. My brain is slightly older than most...and I have to use what matter hasn't atrophied yet, to get me through this program!!! :)

I can't wait to meet all of you! YOU ALL sound so interesting!!!
