  1. I can finally add my name to the list!!! I applied to U of D Mercy last year-- made alternate. This year applied to U of D and Wayne State U in Detroit. Turned down by WSU after the interview.... GOT IN AT U OF D!!!!!!! Anyone else going to U of Detroit in the fall?? Congrats to all
  2. Just a note to see if anyone is even in my geographical location. It seems that there are less posters from MI as compared to last fall. Let me know if you are (or maybe applying to MI programs) and how it is going. I am feeling lonely... Hahaha Mo
  3. I also started with the ADN, then BSN completion (family life made that easier). I agree with the other users that if you can make the grades now, do so. Things will only get harder (usually), but I can understand about the motivation part. I interviewed last year at UDM in Detroit, and made the alternate list. I just interviewed at WSU, and re-applied to UDM. However, the whole application process this time around was very emotionally draining. I felt a distinct lack of motivation, even though I have my heart set on the program. I guess that the rejection hurt so bad last time, I do not want to go through it again! Anyway, motivation aside, if this is what you really want you need to find a way to push yourself. It is so much easier to bring down a GPA due to "winging it" than it is to bring that GPA back up. (In both of my interviews so far, they have spent time discussing grades for all of my schooling. But all programs are different.) Good luck to you! Mo
  4. Thank you for the tidbit!! I feel as if in 12 hours I will self destruct!! (But I get nervous before my kid's Bday parties, so what's new??)
  5. Okay, so a couple more silly questions... (My interview is Tuesday at 0800, and I am a little freaked out!) I cannot, for the life of me, think of a ""mind-blowing question" to throw at the panel for when they say "Do you have any questions for us?" I want to make that final impression, but my mind is so numb right now, I cannot think of anything that will really get me noticed. I have a pretty laid back, easy-to-get-along-with personality in general, but my nerves have taken over. I was an alternate for a program last year (U of Detroit Mercy), and I really dread the though of repeat-rejection. Am I babbling?? Any calming advice will be paid for.....:uhoh21:
  6. I experienced the same thing at WSU in Detroit. In my case, the admission to the grad school and the CRNA program were two seperate things. I found out a couple of weeks after the grad school letter that I also had an interview for the program. Follow up for sure, as the previous writers have advised. Good Luck!!
  7. What are the odds for the dreaded "A- word" applicants (alternate)? I tend to believe that it means I need to be ready to start this process over in a month . I have heard some horror stories about the timing of acceptances for the alternates. Anyone else in this position?
  8. Any advice?? I really hope it went well. Did they give you a time line for responses?
  9. Congratulations on your success with OU. ( I am assuming that you got into OU, since the U of D interviews are not over yet.) :wink2: I heard that Oakland is more technical of an interview, what did you think. (I have only recently joined this forum, My advice is probobly something that you have heard before!) I also have a U of D interview and am sweating in my shoes. That is great that you have a place to fall back on, if this one does not go well (which it probobly will). Unfortunately, I could only apply to U of D this year. If it does not work out, I will add Wayne to next years list. Post any info that you find (if you want) and I will do likewise. Good luck!
  10. Hello to all. This is my first posting to this forum, though I have read many entries regularly. Does anyone have any advice pertaining to the University of Detroit Mercy's CRNA program?? I have an interview this month and am VERY nervous/excited/unable to concentrate on anything else. I am not really sure as to what to expect for the interview. How long are they usually? (I am not sure if any of the readers are from the Metro area, but hello to anyone who is.) I have heard that this group is not as "technically" based as some other programs, but can anyone tell me if there is a certain set of standard tech. questions? I don't mean to sound hysterical, but I may be heading that way... Thanks for any advice.
