Who's applying for the Fall 2006 semester?

Published

I was wondering who is applying for nursing school for the Fall 2006 semester.

My school allows us to hand in our transcripts for 3 weeks in March and the first batch of letters go out in May.

They only have 135 slots for the day and 50 for the evening. I will be applying for the day program since my gpa is not high enough for the evening (they say at least 3.7).

Good luck to everyone

And what do they tell you? See, I was promised that they would go out last Friday (just like you-it's collusion of all the Florida schools I say!) and I live one county away and it's been 3 business days now? C'mon. Then I thought, well I updated my address with them after I applied (my application had the correct address) but when if they printed up the envelopes when the application was received?

Oh well, originally I was calling hoping if I didn't get in, they would tell me but now I figure if I didn't I'd rather get the letter and be left alone. I honestly don't think I got in because of the competition and SPC is shifting from a waiting list scenario to a competitive application process....so I'll be shocked/wonderfully pleased if I do get in.

They tell me it will be 8 weeks from June 1st, 8 weeks, 8 weeks...that is all anyone says. WHY does it take 8 weeks....that is crazy. Well good luck...did you only apply to one school? And you live in Tampa Bay right? Oh sorry St Pete...is there anywhere else you can apply if you don't get in? Or do you have a plan B?

My plan B if I don't get in is to A) apply to the spring semester because that deadline is Aug 15th and also B) retake a few courses (like A&P) because I took them 10 years ago and it would be a good refresher and also get my GPA back up from my hooligan freshman days 11 years ago. Hopefully I won't have to use PLAN B. And no where else I want to go really.....just keep hacking away at it.

You are too funny, and I can tell that you can feel our anxiety. I am working today and my husband works nights, so although the mail has already come, he's sleeping. I don't think I will be able to check my mail until 6 or so tonight, which makes for a very looonnnggg day. So, I've given up on stressing about it. I was so darn foul yesterday, but I'm much better today.

hahah I would be like, "GET UP AND CHECK THE MAIL!!"

Oh man......Well hopefully it will be there when you get home, they will not tell you if you call now that the letters have been mailed? I still have 3 weeks to go :( Keep us posted.

And you know what CAL, we know it is torture...and who knows if I'm not accepted I might have to go through that torture myself. I think the only thing that ticked me off about the process was that I was given one date by one person and another date by another....so lack of consistancy. Oh well, I really hope for the best that you get in!!!! And you keep me posted too.

Moon-

I would attempt to wake up, but I told him to shut off the ringer so I wasn't tempted to do that and wake him up. He works the midnight shift (12 hour shifts) for 7 days and then takes 7 days off. He deserves his rest, he earned it.

Well, I kind of have bad news. My friend just called me now and told me she got a letter from SPC and she is an alternate on the list, which means if someone drops or doesn't show up, she could be in. She has to go to orientation and sign up for classes just in case too. :trout: bla

CAL723........

I am the one that said the 189. Just something I heard. I haven't called yet. I thought we would find out six weeks later UGHHHH. I can't believe we still have four more weeks. The waiting is pure torture.

God...Tell me about it!! This wait is killing me. We actually have 3 more weeks, I guess we will know by the end of July. I have not heard anything, and believe me it is not because I have not tried.......:o How many points did you apply with?
