All I can say to you is stay ahead!!!!! I started this week and I have so much to do!! So much to study it's just over welming but I can handle it, another thing about the chapters, they don't go from front to back, we went over chapter 1, 27, 44,35 and chapter 8, before class started I did the same thing, read the 1st 3 chapters, it's still good to read, I'm just letting you know

Definitely read ahead! It will help with understanding material during lecture. Review a little each night for about 15-20 minutes on top of whatever study plan you have. Also try to stay positive. There will probably be a few Debbie Downers in your class, and it is easy to let them get to you. Congratulations!

Only in nursing school do we get homework (reading) before the first day of class! My advice is to make sure you read some every single day, to keep up. You can do it! And definitely READ THE CHAPTERS. I have so many classmates who do not read and then lament their bad test scores. The two things are definitely related!

I'm in my second term and it's not easy. Do you have evolve for students? You will have a lot of reading to do. Make sure you try to stay a head if you can. Take good notes. I've accepted the fact that I won't have a life for the next year and it's ok because I'm doing something that I love to do. I've been a Medical Assistant for 24 years and after my daughter graduated high school and started college I decided to do the same. Keep in touch. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Good luck

I'm going into my second term on Monday and it has been a journey. I sometimes study 6pm to 2 am, sleep a little then back up at 5 am. I know it won't always be this way and it will all be worth it in the end. I am starting clinical rotation in 2 weeks and I am super excited. I will have to be there at 6:45 am sharp and ready to work. So I will probably have to wake up at 4:45am. :-) In the end it's all worth it.
