Been a nurse for a few months and found a great top...a nice loose fitting underarmour shirt that keeps me cool...what do you think?

I wear WalMart's UnderArmor wanna-be T shirts under my scrubs - keeps me cool at a price I can afford - and I have a lot of different colors to match y scrubs!!!

Do they really keep you cool? I just recently got a tattoo on my arm my scrubs cover it except in certain situations. The floor I am on is hot so I didn't want to wear anything underneath so I cut off sleeves and sewed them (very poorly) into my seams of my scrub top. So far it is working. I obviously don't want to do this all the time so I wonder if Underarmour would keep me cool on this god awful hot floor?

Jen,
I love mine, and I wear them everyday I wear scrubs. I work in the ED, and our A/C was broken or three weeks straight. It was hot, and I sweat a lot, but I still felt ok. On real hot days I was wearing a bandanna around my neck with crystals in it that keep water, and I froze the entire thing.
Anyhow, give the Starter shirts a try. Walmart has two kinds, and I found the ones (Mens section) better that have no neck, basically look lie a TShirt. They run about $8, so try it out, and if you don't like it you didn't spent too much $$$.
Cool - I will give them a try especially the ones at walmart.
Thanks!

What is an UnderArmour?

A wicking undergarment. Mostly the people I know who wear that sort of thing are in construction.
It's a type of undergarment (or regular garment, as well) that will wick the moisture (i.e. sweat) from your body so you feel dryer and cleaner. It's used extensively by people who do sports, and many sports outfits are made out o a Underarmor type material. Dick's Sporting Goods is the local distributor in my area, but, as I mentioned before, WalMart sells a Starter brand that is as good. Only difference is that the actual Under Armor brand has all types of shirts (including socks andunderwear) that WalMart doesn't.
Thank ya, thank ya.
