Thought maybe we could form a support and study group. I've seen a post for July, August, and now October but not September. If I missed the post can someone direct me to it?
I'll be taking the NCLEX 9/29/2008. I've taken the Michigan boards way back in 1977. Those were days when the exam was done over 2 full days and divided into 5 separate tests, medical, surgical, psych peds. I waited 7-8 weeks to get the results in the mail.So now I let my license lapse and want to go back to nursing ( not on the floor).
I have completed Suzanne's first tip and have emailed her to that affect. Just waiting to hear back.
I cannot imagine having to take the NCLEX for the first time in 30 years. My heart goes out to you. I've heard how the test was done back then. We sure have it better. I can't imagine having to wait two months for a result. I wouldn't have had a hair left in my hair.
What area of nursing do you want to go into? My husband and I both have a BS in computer information systems and he plans to go to nursing school in a couple of years. He's waiting for his textile plant to move overseas before he begins. He wants to combine his degrees and go into nursing informatics. Even though I have the computer degree, I want to do bedside nursing. I enjoy working with people more than computers. lol
How did you do with the Saunders book? After 30 years, did you remember most of it?
Good luck to us all that will be taking the test again soon, or taking it for the first time soon. I am so happy that I found this site. It is really informative and I am glad that I found suzanne's review. I am 1 away from my 15th post so will be able to join her review soon enough. Thanks for all the support and I will be praying for us all to pass, because only god can get us through this.
By the way can someone tell me if the 15 posting is the messages that we place on here? Just trying to make sure that I am onthe right track. Or does it mean something else
You are correct. You have to have posted 15 messages before you can PM someone. You have 15 exactly so you should be "good to go." Good luck on the NCLEX.
I'm still learning how to use this site, the message I wrote was to snslove.Quit question: How you include the person's message in your post, I seen many do that I can't figure out :crash_com
If you look at the message, there is a "quote" button on the lower right of the message. If you click that it will quote the post of the person you wish to respond to like I just did with yours. Does that help?

I'm planning to test the middle of September. I've had a lot of stress going on around me this summer and haven't been able to study quite like I wanted to until the last month or so. I've really knuckled down and tackled this Saunders book the way that Suzanne suggested. I'm waiting on her second tip now.
My school paid for Virtual ATI for us and I did really well on the tests when I took them in school. Since I have been out (graduated in May), I've flopped on them. I decided to switch to Saunders for the time being and I have done much better with it. At least Saunders gives you rationales so you know why you missed a question. ATI does not.
If you have time to delay your test a bit I'd suggest giving Suzanne a try. It's free and every bit will help. Just my two cents.
