Hello, I am looking into Everest College and their RN program in Henderson,NV. Does anyone have experience with the hiring of new nurses from Everest College. How are they regarded?
Love to hear any feedback. I am 45 years old and Id wish I graduate from a university like UNLV but I don't have that kind of time on my side.
Thank you.

Adding the repeated response... Please say no to Everest!
Everest is known for charging a lot of money, as they are a for-profit private school. They have high drop out rates, low pass rates. They have had campuses close because of this. Please find a reputable educational system that puts your education above their profit margins.
Everest is now a non-issue. Corinthian Colleges, parent company of Everest is now defunct (For-Profit School Was Cash-Strapped When U.S. Cut Funds - WSJ). Campuses are in the process of closure. Some may be resurrected under new ownership. One down . . .
That is NOT true. I just graduated Everest College-Henderson in July 2016 with my ADN and passed my NCLEX in 75 questions on the first try. There are no teachers cancelling classes for no reason, only 2 teachers even left while I was attending and the cost is far less than having to take all your prereqs first and then maybe get into the nursing program at UNLV or CSN. Plus between grants and the VA everything was covered.

Everest only has two accredited nursing programs in the country, Henderson and one in Tampa. These two are the exception. You were very fortunate because everywhere else, Everest has a horrible reputation. To be safe, I would get your bsn soon just in case Everest folds completely.
I'm very wary of technical colleges and their medical programs. A friend of mine earned her LPN from a technical college (with no degree) and is looking at my community college to get her RN and associate's, but almost none of the classes transferred over. She qualifies for the LPN to RN program.... After she retakes general biology, microbiology, a&p 1, and a&p 2...

You are so right. I so wish these schools would go away. They prey on the poor and uneducated and just steal their financial aid that could be used at a school where they could actually do something with their lives instead of putting these people who don't need to be in a hole to begin with, in a bigger hole. I just wish there was a good way to get the word out. A very close friend of mine is going to one of these schools and they have her so snowed despite the fact that me and several other people have told her that no one hires these people and she will have nothing but a $20000 debt when she is done. She can't afford it. It makes me sad.
