Who can say they pass with little preparing?

Can anyone here say they passed with minimal preparation?

Me!! I don't know which NCLEX you will be taking, LPN or RN. I'm an LPN, who recently took boards. I did a few quizes on the CD rom from the review book that I had from school... And just looked up common lab values, etc. I really don't feel that I stressed too much about boards. I stressed when I was waiting for the results tho!! Good luck to you!

Unless you have money to waste...not preparing just isn't a good decision. I felt prepared to take the NCLEX the day I graduated. My RN predictor gave me a 97% prabability of passing...and through school I studied for every test as if it were for the NCLEX...I never crammed.

Even then...I did 100-200 CD-ROM questions a day plus reading and cards. I just knew I couldn't afford $300 to take it again. In the end..I thought the exam was easy. I honestly thought I failed because it was SO easy to me. But-I was truly prepared for it.

Good luck to you!

I minimally prepared, spent maybe 10-20 hours of review time for the RN boards this year. I took the LPN boards in 1997 with minimal preparation as well. I am a very good "test taker" so to me if I know the information I am comfortable with tests. Explains why Excelsior College was a good fit for me!

I am now starting their RN-MSN program!

I passed both boards with the least amount questions possible...(RN 75 & PN 85)

spent 6 weeks preparing , took the kaplan course and did thousands of q bank questions.. it is better to be prepared than not. i passed w/ 75 questions... i also went through the whole saunders book.. better to be safe than sorry

I finished the ADN program in Michigan back in May 2006, took the NCLEX in June 2007, and passed without having to answer bank questions. However, I did review values.

Now, I did have to answer 225 questions :uhoh21:, but I went in thinking this would be a practice round. Never did I imagine passing after being out of school an entire year before taking the NCLEX.

Some of us are good test takers and others are not. Some of us may need extra hours of studying and for some of us we are able to retain and apply what we have learned. I would never :nono: recommend taking the NCLEX without studying for it some though, unless you are that confident.

I did. I read NCLEX Made Incredibly Easy 2 days before my NCLEX RN...and passed with 75 questions. I graduated from Excelsior and was well prepared.
