Hi Everyone,
I wanted to start this thread, so that prospective applicants to the nursing program can share our ideas and journey.
Thanks:)
Thank you, I will. Last year I applied and did not get in but I was a transfer in and they told me I probably would not be accepted and I had no volunteering. This year was better, I think my only down fall is I got a C in Microbiology. All other classes have been done! So my finger are crossed!
To those on the waitlist - I wish you best of luck!
I'm thinking of going to GMU on Thursday to talk to my counsellor, register for the English class and get familiar with the campus.
Did you guys physically sign your agreement?
I can't check the third box with "Admission to George Mason by June 15, 2015" although I have been granted the general admission. Also, while it it does allow me to sign the document electronically the font is odd. Should I just print it, sign and scan it?
Lanekone, are u planning on taking the English this Summer? Also I think you would have to go to tranfer orientation before you can register classes. When I paid my enrollment fee. The orientation office sent me an email full of steps. I already signed up for MAY 5TH daytime. I decided I would take my English next year summer. Reasons being
1. I want to start classes, then get familiarized with the things expected of me. I also read the is a NURS/HHS Course that can satisfy the English requirement. Am thinking by taking my nursing classes, I would know what they want when it comes to the English, because they are both Upper Level courses as Compared to Nova courses. I might be wrong tho, so I would wait and go for the transfer orientation and see my next step. Actually I just read over again, the English has different types for different majors. And for Nursing it is HHS 465
That's the backup plan I'm resorting to as well if things on the waitlist don't turn out. I suppose we'll find out in the next couple months!
Congratulations, again, to all those who got into the program! Thank you for your kind words, best wishes, and crossed fingers to those of us on the waitlist!
Hello!
I just found out I got waitlisted, which was surprising because I had little hope after not doing my best on the HESI(forgot, but 83-4%ish? overall) Now, I am praying for a miracle!! ^_^
Ive been checking this forum here and there..but I just found out by reading this that an email was sent out instead of a physical mail!! Thank you all for this page or I would've waited and waited and would've missed the april 20th deadline to send out the response wishing to stay on the waitlist. WHEW!
For the people who were accepted: CONGRATS!!!
Also, can you explain what was on your letter? Was there a deadline where you had to notify if you were accepting the offer or not??? B/C our letter says the people on the waitlist could be accepted as late as early august....which means I will have to pay the 250 dollar gmu acceptance fee without knowing if I will attend or not T T. So it would be helpful to know when the admissions office will know how many people out of the accepted group will be officially attending.
Ty~
Michelle,
From my understanding, they are giving accepted applicants until April 20th to sign the contract and pay the deposit.
Those who applied to multiple schools may drop at this point.
The deposit is due on June 15 and not refundable after this date. Again, some people may drop before or even after the deadline.
Additionally, the office of admissions reserves the right to reconsider their decisions upon receiving final grades for the Spring semester and fulfillments of the terms of the contract.
Good luck!
A year ago in the month of Aug, I created this forum to write about our journey to George Mason University precisely the nursing school. I am amazed at how far we have come and what a difference a year can make. I am happy I got into my first choice school. I hope everyone got admitted to mason nursing school or to another school of some sort. I wish everyone goodluck... It was nice sharing this forum with you all.
