I really want to go to school for my WHNP and work with women in the OB setting (IE an OB office or planned parenthood). I am not sure if I obtain my FNP I would be able to work at either of those. I am having a hard time finding schools that will accept me for my WHNP because we do not live in the state that the schools are offering the programs in. My husband is in the military and we move a lot so I was looking for an online program that would accept me. Most of them have said no because I do not reside in said state.
I just want to know if anyone here has worked as an FNP in an OB setting and how did you get that position? What is your background?
I have background in surgery, ER, and urgent care.

I'm in northern CA, and I know around here PP actually prefers to hire FNPs to WHNPs/CNMs, although it varies by location.

I was a military wife for many years and was always given in-state tuition and never had an issue once I explained I was a military spouse.
