Ok... I need a recommendation...
I start LVN school at the end of August and our uniform is solid white scrubs. The scrubs offered at the book store are... rather thin...
Can someone make a suggestion on white uniform scrubs that aren't completely see-through?
Should I just plan to wear white bike shorts and a white tank top under my scrubs because the white ones are all see-through?
(Honestly... white? I know we're not going to be completely out of the way from potential stains and such... why white? LOL!)

If I were you, I'd head to your local uniform or scrub shore. I was just in mine yesterday and although I don't need white scrubs (I lucked out with navy for my nursing program), they had white colored scrubs in almost all of the different brands. There's bound to be something a little heavier than what's offered at your bookstore, plus will probably cost less.
Also, instead of wearing white shorts and tanks under your scrubs, wear skin colored undergarments. They blend into your skin and disappear under white pants/shirts. (I learned that trick from Carson Kressley - love him!)
Good luck!
awesome... thanks! (hadn't thought of the flesh colored trick, even though i've heard it before.. haha)
white scrubs... *sigh* LOL

There are a number of companies that make 100% cotton scrubs -- those are typically less "see-through" than the synthetic blends. I'm sure you could find them with an on-line search.
I would definitely not just buy what the school's bookstore stocks, unless that is some special, required uniform. If you can wear any scrubs, there's a huge selection available "out there."
White isn't so bad -- many of us "old fogeys" wore it all the time as a regular thing for many years without thinking anything of it (or having any particular problem with it). :) Best wishes for school!
And hey, at least you can bleach your scrubs! (Try to think positive! )
You can bleach (chlorine "Clorox" type bleach) all-cotton whites, but using chlorine bleach on cotton-synthetic blends will turn them yellowish.

This is so true. I'm black and dark brown undies are invisible under whites. No one, I mean no one, regardless of race should wear white undergarments under white scrubs.

Exactly! Last time I was in Victoria's Secret, they had various shades of flesh colored bras, not just black, white, and tan (and red, pink, purple, etc.). I'm fair skinned, so even a tan bra is too dark for me. It was great to see the options!
