White Memorial New Grad 2011

Hello! I'm kinda new here. :) I also got a call from White Memorial last Dec. 2 for a panel interview. I did my interview yesterday, which I thought went pretty good... I was there for about an hour!!! I got about 5 questions including 1 critical thinking question. I just got a call back today from White Memorial scheduling me for a drug calculation test next Wednesday (December 15). I guess I'll be there with anuong05. Good luck to both of us! They told me we would be hearing final decisions by the end of the month. For those that don't get a call beginning January, you most likely did not get in per ---- at HR. I hope this helps those that are still waiting!

Final decisions? U mean hiring decision? That's great. We will have a happy holiday if we have good news :-)

Hello anuong05,

During my interview I asked what the timeline is for filling the positions, and ------ told me that they would have the final candidates for the program by the end of December. So yeah, we'll have a very good holiday if we do get in! I'm so excited! I really hope we both get it!

Just to update everybody, the nurse recruiter said WMMC is hiring 20 new grads, around 1-2 per unit, and there are 700 applicants.

I have no idea how many people they have selected so far, but I do know that Med-surg is not available according to my recruiter (Med-surg was one of my choices). I also applied to telemetry and pediatrics. Telemetry is hiring two and pediatrics is hiring two.

Btw, do we bring all the required paperwork (resume, unofficial transcript, LORs, and five year goal essay) to final interview? How long should the essay be? I wrote 1 page 'cause I think they have to read many essays...What do u think?

No. Holly told me the test result will be ready by Friday so I don't think they start calling us until next week ( if they ever call!).

Ok. Thanks! I spoke with my recruiter too and she told me that I would need to pick another unit of choice because OR is not hiring. And then I saw on one of the replies that Med-Surg is filled up too. So, I might have to choose other units. She told me that depending on the schedule of the Nurse Managers, I might not get an interview till next year because most of them are busy on the holidays... So... More waiting... (what's new???) I'm thinking, those that already got interviewed by the nurse managers probably already got in that's why positions are being filled already and we might end up getting those that are still free. (whichever ones are those). My recruiter told me too that when she calls me, she'll let me know what positions are still available. Goodluck to all of us that got this far! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!! :)
