I am taking the final courses for my pre-req before i apply for the nursing program and i need to add an extra class on to make myself full time. My advisor signed me up for English Comp II over the phone recommending it to me but i really do hate ENGLISH!!! its my weakest subject and i barely pulled off an B+ in ENG Comp I
IF i was to change it i need to pick one of the following and i was wandering if anyone has taken any of these to give me your input. I am thinking on which one i want to change it to...

I'm an English geek, so I would love to take Comp II and Intro to short fiction.

I would go to ratemyprofessor.com and make a selection based on the teacher. A good teacher can make a world of difference (as does significant bonus work, which some offer and some don't).

I would definitely take the Comp II, it is going to teach you writing skills that you will need in Nursing School. The classes above will ALL need you to write papers as well. My school requires Comp I and II before you can take any higher level English Classes.
Utilize your school's resources if needs be for these classes. Does your school have a writing lab were students can get help with papers??
While I think this website is fun to look at... my three favorite teachers EVER have some of the lowest scores on RMP because their classes are so hard. Students should not be afraid to take a class because the teacher is hard. These three teachers taught their classes the way they do in Nursing School... so I felt more prepared than some of my classmates.
ive never taken classes at this school so i have my orientation friday to learn the campus more.. i just moved here from colorado...

Can you not take a Humanities Elective? Those are something we need in our Nursing program and they count as 3 credit hours as well.
While I agree with you in terms of a professors personality I am referring more to using the site to get an idea of how grading is done. For example is it just limited to a set number of tests, is it tests and papers, and is there any bonus work offered.
Avoid Western Civ like the plague!

It all really depends on your strength and weakness as well as the professor. Like I am really good in English, I made a 105. Although that was not all because I was good at it. I had a great teacher that allowed you to get extra credit here and there as long as you paid attention. Ask around for the best teachers and pick from that which is a strength or weakness for you.

I'd do one of the film classes personally. Conflict and nonviolent resolution in film?! That sounds so awesome!

Wouldn't enc comp 2 make sense because its a pre req for the BSN? I have my ASN and doing RN-BSN and that's what I'm taking this fall. Along with American literature that's also required. I suggest to get it out of the way
