I am an foreign trained RN working in Vermont. Are there any other states that I can work in that don't require CGFNS or VisaScreen?

I did look at the Compact License website but I don't think a compact license allows me to bypass the CGFNS or VisaScreen.

If you need a visa allowing you to live and work in the US then you will have to get VSC. If already in the US and allowed to work then in most cases is better to apply to the state you wish to work in as they may still require you to meet their requirements when International trained. Most states require some contact with CGFNS as a CES report there are a couple of states that don't like California, Florida uses CGFNS as well as a couple of other credited companies for transcript/training evaluation

Visa Screen Certificate is not a state requirement, it's a federal requirement for immigration based on a healthcare job.

Then I don't need VisaScreen at all because I already have PR. I'm trying to figure where else I can work other than Vermont. Anyway I'm just being lazy, I am perfectly capable of going to every BON and checking their requirements.

Hey we all get lazy at some point in time, and there's nothing wrong with that, it's just in our nature. Good luck

Your question is a little weird - you can work wherever you want. There are VERY few states (maybe 3 now) that still require CGFNS exam/certification. Most/many require the CES report from CGFNS instead. Perhaps this is different than when you became licensed in the US.

I didn't require the CES report to obtain my Vermont license. I had my transcript sent from NZ to Vermont and they oked my qualification. I sat NCLEX and that was it.

As of July 1, 2009, you do need a CES report for Vermont, either from CGFNS or IERF (Qu.5-6)

I already have my Vermont license, I have been working here for 18 months so that didn't apply to me and doesn't help me whatsoever with my original question.

California doesn't require CES or CGFNS...but the job prospects are very dismal.

No need for attitude. As it happens, you are not the only person reading this website, and someone else may need to apply to VT and like to know the correct process.

Perhaps your time would be better used investigating where you're qualified to work rather than posting snappy comments?
