Which of the nursing pre-reqs did you find the most difficult?

Anatomy, Chemistry, Microbiology or Physiology?

Would you say that Chemistry was the hardest? I've taken Chemistry in high school and it was a nightmare. I'm pretty good at memorizing so any science courses that doesn't involve a lot of math would be good for me.

Chem. by far. I can do math- I just hate it. As far as I can tell chem is just one mah problem after another. It also didn't help that all the TAs couldn't speek english. I'm not comfortable in conversational Manderin.

Chem! Hated it...hated it..hated it. Could not wrap my mind around all the things that molecules etc do, bond with, create etc..by the Grace of all that is Good and a great Chem professor, I walked out with an A-. Have NO idea how that happened and honestly can't remember anything about Chem.

What's funny is, I had taken Chem before (but it was too old to transefer)..eeked by with a C with a really bad professor...took it the 2nd time with a great professor and got an A-. Now, having to retake College Algebra again (yet again, another class that won't transfer due to how long ago I took it, eons ago!). First time I took it got an A+ with an awesome professor who loved to teach and I truely enjoyed the class. Taking it now, not doing well AT ALL with a professor where its glaringly apparent that he does not enjoy teaching and where I dread going to class.

Chemistry, hands-down. I took it at a community college last year as a prerequisite for an accelerated second degree BSN program. I'm a straight-A student and I got the only C I've ever gotten in my life in that class. :( It was such a bummer! I got an A in the lab though - I understood the concepts fine, I just feel like I didn't understand the very specific way our lecture professor wanted us to do math problems. The exams were the only grades, and they were set up so the very long problems were about 50% of the grade, so I was pretty much doomed from the beginning.

Some of it was my own undoing as well - I overestimated my ability to learn Chem quickly (I'm the kind of person that never has to spend too much time studying) and didn't change my study methods quickly enough to do a better job. Lesson learned!

Yeah, I have to take Medical Chemistry (which is general, organic, and biochem all in one) as a pre-requisite for microbiology & physiology. I can't take those classes unless I pass medical chem. I took in the spring and ended up dropping because I wasn't doing well in the lecture class. The labs were okay though.

Microbiology is kicking me this semester....

Definitely Microbiology! the only prereq I got a C in. it was harder than I expected, no matter how much I studied for an exam I never did good on it. And I didn't care much for the lab or the lab times.
