Do you wear your stethoscope around your neck while working? If yes, does it cause neck strain, headaches or other problems? If no, where do you keep it while working?

I carry a nursing bag...so it stays in there with my other tools until I need it. When I am wearing a lab coat is stays in the pocket as I prefer not to wear it "around" my neck. I occas drape it over a shoulder temporarily...for instance, when I am finished with it but need to clean it before putting in my pocket, I don't like to set it down as I have lost more than one in that fashion and they are not cheap.

All of my scrubs have a side pocket, and often I will carry it there. Otherwise I drape it over my neck. Some ICUs where I work won't allow us to use our own 'scopes (potential vector). In those cases I use a disposable one that stays in the patient's room.
FYI, I tried using one of those stethoscope clip things and my stethoscope kept getting hung up on things that I walked by, like doorknobs and the crash cart or our "ships" (computer workstations). It now sits in the bottom of my car.
I carried mine around my neck for many years. I stopped last year when the back of my neck started burning really bad when my steth was touching it. Now I keep it with me during rounds but otherwise it sits in my nursing bag until I need to have it with me.
