Where do you want to work as an LPN?

Published

Even though I have along time before I even finish school I have already started researching what type of places and jobs I want. I really want to work in a dialysis clinic, this is my first choice. My second choice is to work in a rehabilitation clinic. My third choice is to work as a methadone nurse. I really don't want to work in a nursing home.

WHAT TYPE PLACES ARE YOU FUTURE NURSES LOOKING TO WORK? I would love to know!!

I graduate on Thursday I would like to do a specialty rehabilitation center or a drug rehab I also have been pondering pediatrics!!! Who knows!!!! No set dream job I just wanna learn as much as I can at different places !

I think I would seriously consider moving to work in the new Children's hospital after it has been built. Peds could be very interesting.

I graduate in October and it keeps me up at night trying to decide where I want to go in my career. Really don't want to do the nursing home gig, thinking maybe dialysis but not sure if I'd like it. the county hospital by where I live has a large dialysis unit, was thinking if I got in there and didn't like it being already in house might have the opportunity to bid on open jobs in other areas of this large hospital.

I haven't started my program yet but I think I would want to work at a long term facility where I could build relationships with patients and getting to know them. Of course, once I begin my program I might change my mind

Specializes in Wound Care.

4 more months left...1st choice Wound care, 2nd choice post surgical (out patient), 3rd choice Dermatology

Federal Corrections/state corrections or LTC.

All of the institutions I'm wanting to go to are very short staffed.

I'm praying that it will still be like this come next August, which is when I graduate, lol.

my first choice is a military installation outpatient clinic; my second choice is a dialysis center

I'd love to land a job at Hospice!

Specializes in Cardiac.

I only have one more semester to go before I finish and I have just recently started thinking about it. From the start I have always wanted to work in a hospital mainly for all I could possibly learn there but I am finding out that hospitals are not hiring LPNs much at all, at least not around here, so ltc would be my next choice until or if I decide to go back to become a RN.

I'm going to apply to all the places that hire LPNs in my area. I'll work where ever I get hired, and decide to be picky after I get some experience.

I agree strawberry same thing I plan to do

As an LPN I'm not being really picky with where I work. My plan is to provide safe and competent care where ever I land. Honestly, my goal is to get where ever the money is good. I decided to go the LPN route just to get into the field quicker. Once I become an RN, I would love to work ICU and even do home care. I really would enjoy ER, ever since I did a clinical in the ER, I've been craving the opportunity to go back. So once I finish school next month, I plan to hand in an application where ever it will be accepted! LOL Happy hunting everyone!
