Where to take online prereqs?

Published

Hello,

I was accepted to an accelerated nursing program for the spring 2014 semester and am now looking to complete the prerequisite courses that are required for the program. I was told that I could take them online so long as they are "regionally accredited and the course contains the required amount of credits/lab component."

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could take the following courses online for the fall 2013 semester:

Microbiology with lab (4 credits)

Human Anatomy with lab (4 credits)

Human Physiology with lab (4 credits)

Nutrition (3 credits)

I would prefer to take them all at one school as I assume financial aid would be more likely to cover them this way, but who knows. Thank you for your help in advance.

Northern Virginia Community College offers all of those online, including the lab components.

Let us know which school you end up choosing! I'm curious how the science courses with labs pan out online.

Tomorrow I will finish my final semester of sciences with online labs. I'm at two different college. One college mailed me an actual lab kit with a microscope and specimens. The other college uses Mastering A&P, a virtual lab on the internet. Both work well.

The University of New England offers an entire curriculum of health science prereqs online but they are pricey.

Specializes in Pediatrics/Developmental Pediatrics/Research/psych.
I am also looking to take Nutrition online because it's full at the college I attend. Do you mind sharing which accelerated program accepted you without completing the requirements?? I'm interested in applying.

Thanks :)

If you're good with self teaching, excelsior has a 3 credit nutritionist credit by exam. I didn't use it, but I took their patho and stats and were pretty straightforward. They give you a syllabus and textbook list.

If you go this route, I recommend to buy their practice tests. (Between $18 and $30)

I need 5 more prerequisites. I'm taking them on portage learning.
