I'm a male licensed LPN from another state and I'm looking for a decent paying job that is within 45 mile radius of Vacaville, California. Don't ask me why (....close to UC davis or Cal State Sacramento...)......I just googled "maps" and saw the general area that I wanna move into. So, I'm thinking maybe in the areas of Sacramento, fairfield, Elk Grove, Davis, Vallejo, Santa Rosa, etc...
I have some corrections experience but I'm open to other areas like er, surgery, etc if they are hiring whatnot. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Couldn't tell you, I've been up north in bay area and was trying to find per diem work as an LVN while I finish RN. Haven't had any luck. *shrugs* north cali sucks for trying to find work.
It must be some top secret issue - nobody's responding....
Any guys/males that know where the jobs are in NorCal?

With corrections experience, that's probably your best bet. Folsom Prison is a big employer, but there are others in the area too.

I don't know about the Sacramento area, but here in the SF Bay Area, no one seems to have a problem finding jobs in nursing homes. That's probably your best bet besides corrections. The hospitals generally only hire LVNs in clinic positions.

Most of the LVN's up here in the real Northern California work in LTC. There is one LVN with IV certification and also an EMT who works acute.
There is a prison in Susanville - 4 of our RN's left to work there. Great benefits, retirement, $10,000 a month.

i only need $3500/month for an easy lpn job!
So, what's the typical day-to-day routine of prison LVN's/LPN's in California prison?

LTC are always hiring LVN's...The prison system pays pretty well from what I hear for LVN's...In my area LVN's are only in a few areas in the hospital...I heard that the county jails hire LVN's and in the Bay area they pay about $32.00 there...That was about a year ago, the pay might have gone up. Good Luck.
So, what skills do you have to have to work in California prison as an LVN. I've worked in a different state as my first LVN job - but for a very short time. And all I did was dispensed drugs and narcotics and administered insulin. That was it.
