I am currently in a nursing program in California...3 more semesters to go...After I graduate from school my husband and I are planning to move to Utah...how do I go about getting my license out there??? Should I ge tmy license first in California, or just Utah????

there are two options. first, you can apply for your ca license and sit for nclex. when you are ready to move, you will need to fill out an endorsement application for the state of utah. you should check the licensing board for utah to determine how long the process takes.

second, you can apply for a license in utah. you can still sit for nclex in ca. your results will be forwarded to the utah board of nursing. the question i would ask myself is, “will i practice in ca any before moving to utah?” if the answer is no, i would not apply for the ca license. it would be a waste of money. rather, i would simply apply for my utah license. i hope this helps.

ok...that helps alot, here's my next question...I graduate in Dec 2012, we arent going to plan to move until around June 2013, so that my kids can finish their school year here in Cali, should I then just get licensed here in Cali & work for those 6 mo. or get my license in Utah and then work when we move????
