Where can LVN work

Published

I will be graduating in a little over 5 weeks. I have been searching for jobs online and starting to get worry. I don't want to work in LTC, hospice or home health. I also don't want to work 5 8's in a clinic. Is there anywhere else in the DFW area that hire LVNs?

You have pretty much rejected the usual places where LVNs are employed.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

Where exactly do you think new grad LVNs work? Clinics LTC hospice private duty home health....

You could work in the jail.

Specializes in hospice, LTC, public health, occupational health.
:lol2: Better shine up your nursing shoes for the unemployment line.

this post made me laugh so hard. you dont get to pick and choose where to work as new grad. and you pretty much listed all the places that LVN can work. you chose poorly for your career im sorry

Specializes in LTC and Pediatrics.

Looks like you need to bridge to RN if you don't want to work in those places.

Let me provide you with a little insight. Take the job. Any job. You need to get experience under your belt and beggars can't be choosers. I started at a pediatric clinic, went to an LTAC facility, on to pediatric home health, back to a pediatric facility, back to pediatric home health, and worked on a pediatric unit, med/surg unit, PCU in a level 2 trauma hospital... all as an LVN. I have trained many RN's. I am currently working towards my RN because I have reached the limits of my title and don't like the glass ceiling I have created for myself. I pushed the envelope with my title. If you want to get to the top of the ladder you have to take the lowest step first. Take the LTAC job. You'll learn a lot!
