I am currently doing pre-reqs at a local community college that has an ASN program. When it comes time to apply to the nursing program can I only apply to my school's program or can I apply to different school's programs as well to up my odds of getting in somewhere?

If your current school is fully accredited, those courses will be accepted any other schools also - so you do not have to limit yourself to that school. However, be sure to check the prerequisites for programs before you apply... they may be different.
Good luck!

I don't know about going from one program to a completely separate program. In my area there are other campuses of my community college within about an hour so people apply at multiple campuses to try to get any spot at all in a nursing program. You have to apply separately but the classes all transfer to other campuses. That's all I've got. Good luck!
Thank you both! Do you know if I would need to apply to the school and then apply to the program or just apply to the program? I would think the former, but I'm not sure.

For most you would need to apply to the school first and be admitted and then apply to the nursing program. At least that's how it is here but it may be different in other places who knows. So the best thing would be to contact the program in which you are interested in attending and see what their requirements are. Best of look to you.

That's really a question for the school you are applying to. They might even have that kind of info on their website. I had to be admitted to a school before applying and there were others where I could just apply to the program and the school later if I was accepted. So please check with your schools.
