Nursing is a profession that often involves long lonely night shifts in eerie hospital wards. It's a perfect breeding ground for ghost stories. These stories often involve sightings of apparitions, strange noises, and unexplained events that are said to have taken place in hospitals, hospices, and other healthcare settings. Some of these stories are believed to be based on true events, while others are purely fictional. Yes, and I live minutes away from that house! It's very creepy to see in person. :uhoh21:
:chair: :behindpc: :sofahider ohhh that must be very scary just living by that horror house!! Danielle RN, Is someone living in that house right now for real??!!
I am a nursing student so I haven't experienced anything paranormal in a clinical setting as yet. But I do have a personal story about loved ones being with us. A former Pastor of our church was like a grandfather to me. I called him Pop Pop and he called me Doodlebug. One Saturday morning about 6 years after his death, I was really missing him for some reason. Sitting on the edge of my bed, I said out loud, "I miss you, Pop Pop!" And as audible and clear as I'm hearing my tv right now, I heard him reply is his sweet precious voice, "Oh Doodlebug! I miss you, too!" Needless to say, my eyes swelled with tears. I still cry when I think about it. I know he watches over me. And sometimes I can smell his cologne in the house.
My wife had a creepy experience a few years ago. She and another nurse were on duty at an inpatient hospice facility. One of their patients was dying and the immediate family was in the room with him. Well, he passed away and the family said their goodbyes. The family stepped out of the room and my wife and the other nurse went in to prep him for other family that was coming. This was about 15 minutes after he drew his last breath and his heart stopped. As they straightened his sheets his right arm rose, bending at the elbow, and he itched the side of his nose with his index finger. Then his arm relaxed in the bent position. Both nurses saw this and my wife turned to her coworker and said, "Don't you dare leave without me." They quickly finished their work and left the room together.

Ohhhh, I got chills from this one:chair:
We had moved to a new unit and a particlar room was said to be haunted. A patietn I had cared for had passed away ( another nurse was taking care of him when he passed on nights ). I went in to the room and saw that she had left him naked on the bed , with the O2 still on, arms hanging off the bed. I thought this was very very disrespectful.
I covered him up, took his O2 off and made him look comfortable. I came back to the desk and sat down. Next thing, she came running out of the room wanting to knwo if anyone had been in the patients room. We all denied it. I never told her what I did. I bet she will never leave a deceased patient like that again.
has anyone seen the amityville horror?
Yes! I read that book in the fifth grade ~ way too young to be reading that stuff ~ and since then I freak when I wake up at that time, which happens quite frequently. I blame that book on my insomnia.
OK, what is a little creepy is that when I actually tried to post that last message about Amityville, my computer totally locked up and would not do anything! I am at work and these are like some really great computers. I have never had one do that.

My high school chemistry teacher would tell us he had a friend who was a mortician and would sometimes get people who would sit straight up on the stretcher as he was starting to embalm them. He always giggled when he told this so I never knew if he was telling the truth.
I had heard the Amityville story was a known hoax...what's up with that?
