What's the weirdest baby name?

Specialties Ob/Gyn Nursing Q/A

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

We had a baby boy named Thundur (pronounced "thunder"). His older sister was named Storm.

This wasn't the baby's name but I once had a patient named Nylorac. Her mother's name was Carolyn....get it?LOL

The craziest name I ever heard. I couldn't believe this when I read it in the paper. The mother should have been shot. Are you ready? Shi' thead. Can you imagine the teasing that child will get.

Specializes in OB, Post Partum, Home Health.

A couple of days ago, I had a pt name her son Angus. I assume that she wants her child to get beat up in school. I just hope that he doesn't turn out to be a cattle rancher!!!

Specializes in inpatient hospice house.

Meconium, because the baby was jaundiced. As'shole and shi 'thead. The two last names were twin girl and boy. These kids were taken from the parents because they showed major signs of neglect and abuse.

Few weeks ago we had a family with the last name Bastardo. Lol "Baby Bastardo". Had a good laugh at that one. have been racking my brain but wasne there a movie where "Bastardo" was shouted over and over?

At the inner city hospital we see lots of odd names.

Clamydia

Candida

Itsee (This baby looked like mama from Throw Mama from the Train)

I had two sets of twins last night Samual and Manuel, and Jesus and Manuel.

In the last year I keep getting WASP patients that name their baby girl Maddison and say "isn't that unusual?"

I heard of a lady who named her twins.. or ron gello (spelled)

orange_jello and the other was le mon gello-- Lemon jello.

Did some of these mothers loose brains cells when the placenta was delivered or what?:roll :roll :roll

Before I became a nurse I used to work at a bank. We had a customer named Donald Duck. He was an attorney, older man, probably born before Donald Duck was created. Also had a customer named Richard Dick. Now THAT was stupid!!

I read in Ann Landers once that a woman (Mrs. Hogg) back years ago had a set of twin girls and the father was so upset that they didnt have boys that he named them Ima and yura

Get it? I'm a Hog your a hog:roll :roll

Actually, this is a REAL name. I have seen it in a few baby name books. BUT, the authors of the last one I saw it in did not recomend it because of the infection by the same name.
