What's the weirdest baby name?

Specialties Ob/Gyn Nursing Q/A

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

Raper or Rapper? Surely not raper!

Just remembered one! You can't make this up...Sunset Raper...poor girl

When I lived in the Mid-west, Raper was a fairly common last name. There's even an RV dealership that's called Raper's RV's in Indiana.:uhoh3: Personally, I would have gone straight to the court house for a name change when I turned 18, but that's just me.

Lately we have had people coming in with the spellings of the name written out b/c they CAN'T remember how to spell the name....if you can't spell it by memory you probably shouldn't name your child that......LOL

Or you could be creative with your spelling, like the mom of Conswaylow.

I've heard of someone's real first name as Christmas. There was an older man that told me his name was Nepoleon Love and I thought he was joking, but he showed me his ID and that really is his name. I've heard of a Devilin, the name itself is not bad, it's the way the parents spelled it. Then there's all the Princess, Precious,Destiny,Desire,Unique, Uniqa, Lock,Aquanetta, Ray'net, Onteron and so on and so forth.:lol2:
