Hi everyone,
I'm pre-nursing, and everyone keeps talking to me about how male nurses are in demand and what an asset it's going to be for me. I get that men rarely enter the profession, but I don't see why there is all this buzz or what people think men can do differently. If anyone would care to share their perspectives on this I'd appreciate, cuz I'm not seeing it!
I blame Adam for this. He did not have to eat the apple in the first place:nuke: :nuke: .
I tell my 6 year old Daughter and her Sunday school classmates the same thing - NEVER talk to snakes that talk back. Those are the sneaky kind so cover your ears and walk away from them. Not Adams Fault - Not Eves's - We place the blame on that talking snake. It works for everyone!

In the U.S. Navy, men are not a rarity-male RNs or male Nurse Corps Officers are commonplace.
In regards to male RNs counterparts in the civilian world/sector, perhaps the increasing presence of men will improve working conditions and pay for women and men alike.
I agree that more men in the profession change the stereotypical view of nurses. That can only lead to positive legitimate change for all of us.

I feel that male nurses are so special. They have more compassion and seem to understand things as they happen.
I am a female nurse who would take a male nurse's care any day.
They don't think that they are special, but have the same calling as any nurse does that's worth their salt.
Congrats to any male that will join us in our world to help treat our patients with dignity.
