What's your nursing weakness?

I was just thinking of areas I know I need to work at and need to build my skills. Where are your nursing weaknesses? What do you need to work on?

My labs- What causes them to be off, what the changes mean when paired with other labs, etc. I know some of this comes with practice, but I need to read back up!

Glad to see someone else posting! I have to agree, peds is a problem with me. Mainly because I HATE hurting them. I get along great with them until I have to stick them- then our relationship gets a bit rocky!

Aneroo, mine would be lab values, too. I know it's just a matter of memorization, and I keep telling myself that I'm going to study them, but I never seem to get around to it! So, you're not alone on that one!

Hello, All

My weakness is paperwork. I cannot sit and write in 20 books. I do not have the patience or the handwriting skills. I get bored really easy. Now, give me a computor and I will place my noted every 4 hours. It is much easier for me. I think I have an allergy from the old traditional hand written notes.

Secondly, I will never work with babies. That is my number one isssue.

Thirdly, how to comunicate with a rude and prejudice patient and coworkers.

That is all for me.

Have a great weekend, everyone...

OK, I am not a nurse yet.......but close, in my last semester. I can definitely say nothing freaks me out more than doing a heel stick on a newborn and having to squish all that blood out for blot testing :uhoh3: I HAD to do it last week and my hands were actually shaking. I hated this worse than anything else I have ever encountered in nursing.

Peds gets to me too. Holding down the little patients for procedures definitely bothers me. I am not cut out for peds or nursery!

Cheers,

Lu Ann

Starting IVs and blood draws. Not skills I have to use much.
