whats coming next

hi everybody. my situatian: germen citizen and trying to become a rn in ca/us. i"ve sent my completed application to the bon and what is coming next? do they contact me and let me know when i can take the nclex test or could i do that as far as possible?

does anybody know how long it may take to get all this done?

what about the visa screen certficate, i read somewhere i should start it as soon as possible, when?

is there as possibilty to live in the us without an embloyer?

did you send the fingerprints also? if yes, cabon generally takes 4 months for the review of application and then sends a letter stating whether or not you are eligible to take the nclex. if you are determined eligible, cabon will also send you the nclex bulletine (it has the procedure of registering with pearson vue for nclex.) if you are determined ineligible for the test, cabon will send you a letter stating which subject (theory/clinical) you lack and you will be given 3 years to meet that requirement.

you can apply for visa screen certificate anytime but visa screen will be issued only after the cgfns receives all your documents (including your academic transcripts directly from your schools).

if you want to get an immigrant visa, as a nurse, finding an employer is the best and easiest way(if you aren't eligible for other family based or diversity visa)....but for just living in usa you do not have to be employed....there are many other non-immigrant and tourist visas....

So interessting, thank you for the quick answer. But please tell me about what kind of visa are you thinking about? I looked of all kinds and noone fits into my situation! I am so hopeless, cause the time takes so long to get all the stuff done for the nursing test!

you can look for employer but nothing can be done for your immigration before you actually pass the test(either nclex-rn or cgfns)

i took the ielts. i don't exactly know about the toefl. i herad that ielts is easier to pass than toefl. in my opinion, the length of preparation time varies from person to person depending on the existing level of competency/fluency, intensity of study and the method/system of study.

so here are my thoughts about the next steps to become a rn!

i wanna know if that is realistic or impossible to do it like that!

1) application to the board already sent 2 month ago. (done)

2) take the toefl in may or as soon as possible.

3) apply for the visa screen certificate after the toefl.

4) hope i get the ok for the ncelx in may or june!

??can i take the nclex in the states when they know, that i am germany??

5) come to the us with a b2 visa and take a prep course for ncelx!

??can i come here with the b2 even when my visa screen certificate is in process, or is that ilegal and impossible anyways??

6) take the test in the us and wait for my visa!

so these are my ideas. tell me is that doable?

maybe i should just get married!!!

You are right. But I didn't mean that I want to work here with the tourist VISA! Just want to attend the prep course. I know everything else would be ilegal.

But can't I wait in the states for my visa screen certificate and green card?

Or does that take a longer time than 6 month?

To afford the life without work shouldn't be a problem.

So in your opinion is my plan impossible??

I thought with the prep course would I have a bigger chance to pass the test.....? And I would have soething to do, too.
