I currently am in the admission process for the, now, fall semester! I probably will be taking some of the classes at a community college in the Spring that will transfer just to get started. I was just wondering which ones I should take!? I could take chemistry, principles of microbiology, human growth and development, social problems, intro to algebra, microeconomics or macro or basic economics(ive taken basic and failed that class is HARD),anatomy and physiology. I was just curious which classes are better to start with! Maybe there all ok. :wink2:
Thank You
It kind of depends on how soon you want to be done with your degree. Most programs require that you have Chemistry, Biology, A&P, and Microbiology completed before you can start the nursing courses. (check with the specific program you are applying to in order to find out what they require before they will admit you.) If that is the case, it is up to you. If you don't care to take the time, then by all means only take one science course at a time. If you are wanting to finish sooner, then you will have to take more than one science at a time. My Anatomy and Physiology were separate classes and I took them at the same time. Bio and Chem can be done at the same time as well. Good Luck!
I vote for checking with an advisor at the nursing school of your choice. The school I hope to attend recommends a very specific order of courses, and following their instructions does have an effect on admission decisions.
I prefer online courses myself, and the more material there is to learn or the more difficult the material is, the more I'm grateful for the online format. In a regular classroom, I get weary of off-track discussions.
But that's just me. My advice is to find out how you learn best and go for it.

The school I hope I get into dosen't exactly say if you need certain classed for admission! I think you can take basic education classes there! It's a College of Nursing and Health Sciences, if that makes any difference!?

I agree with this. There's just no substitute for raising your hand and asking a question the minute it occurs to you. I took most of my prereqs online, but I learned the most in the science classes I took in person.
