Alright, I get it we need a suit. But for women there is such a variety. Do you go with a very classic cut? Do I definitely need to wear a shirt or will a good looking fine turtleneck still look good? I hate jackets but I can deal with it. Shirts never look right on me and I am always self conscious. What to do, what to do? And shoes. Ladies, I am freaking out about my outfit.
Any suggestions.
I am not interviewing anymore. I was accepted for Fall 2006. (Probably my good looking pores, Ha!)I agree that you have to feel comfortable in whatever you wear. I am usually not comfortable in any dress clothes but...I invested in a nice suit, nice material, a good fit. And I wore it for a bit the day before my interview- did some jumping jacks, danced, walked in the heels...I think getting use to moving in it makes you a lot more comfortable.
I like suits because I think it gives you a "wow" factor.
Great!!! What school are you going to? When in 2006 are you starting? Congratulations...
Well, I finally got my suit! I picked a very feminine brown wool suit from Ann Taylor Loft with a dark brown turtleneck with lots of stretch with 3/4 sleeves. The most important thing is I am very comfortable in it! I am going to wear the brown shoes I already have and my big brown Coach bag. I also found my Nursing School pin from the same school I am going to interview in. How is that for a touch. Anyhow... My interview is this thursday November 3rd! So wish me luck!
I had a black skirt suit from J. Crew, a coral-colored blouse and pointy black shoes. One of those super-plain, boxy Kate Spade bags. One of the first-year students told me she didn't realize I was an interviewee, she thought I was a visiting faculty member! The suit served me well - I was accepted at 2 schools and I wore the skirt with a more casual top to attend a conference last month.
Whatever you wear good luck to you. I have an interview myself on Tuesday. A black suit is my attire, I hope black is not a bad luck sign. I hope that I look good and won't be nervous. I think I know many of the topics, but sometimes interview have me tied tongued and I forget the simpliest things. Again good luck.

Oh! I am done with my Drexel interview! But why do I feel like crap? I A room with 4 people and all looking at your mouth for every word that will come out of it is a nerve recking situation!!! I felt tongue tied and so nervous that in the 4 hours that I was there I went to the bathroom 6 times. I looked good though! Geese, I guess I will be much more ready for my next interview. They'll be sending out letters of acceptance or refusal next week. I am going to grow ulcers by then...
