Hello,
I am from NC, and usually for an interview one would wear a black suit, and black tie with white shirt, however I have been cautioned that that may be too much to wear up there, and to just stick with slacks and nice shirt.
Any advice~

I would wear what you feel comfortable in for an interview, I dont think suit and tie are necessary for an interview, but it all depends on the job you are applying for and the image you want to portray. Slacks and a nice shirt, and perhaps tie, would also work for you.
Just a reminder about PA - the weather can change from day to day, it can be hot one day, and cold and rainy the next. Make sure you have appropriate clothing! (I used to live in PA...)
Good Luck!

I approach an interview as a way to sell ones-self. Therefore, you don't open your mouth and state untruths about yourself. Because, if you get the job, they will discover the truth.
Don't wear something your not comfortable in. If you not a suit type person, then neatly pressed dockers and dress shirt and black belt and black shoes would be suitable. This way you can focus on the interview without being preoccupied about how you feel.

I'm from Central PA originally. Where are you interviewing? What town? If its rural, think dockers, white shirt, etc. If city (phillie, harrisburg, pitts, etc.) dress up a bit more but not much. And as the previous poster stated, be prepared for sudden weather changes.

Just a little FYI...
The original post was last summer. The poster has probably already interviewed...
