What US State/s that does not require IELTS or TOEFL for NCLEX-RN Application?

I am an international student from the Philippines but a US American citizen.

I have not taken the local board exam or IELTS/TOEFL.

Does anybody know what US State that does not require IELTS/TOEFL in order to apply for a NCLEX-RN?

My reason for my comment is that as long as you don't plan to try to endorse (transfer) your FL license back into CA or NV, as you will still need to pass the particular State's same requirements that you don't want to have to go thru at this present time and then you just end up wasting more money (for application fees and other exam fees, all non-refundable expenses) and more time (to pass the English exam and waiting for results) and if you don't have a local PH license, by the time, you get your FL license, you're back to square one and getting denied (lack of a PH license).

Ah, okay...

Now I get it.

Because some of my relatives in the US said that I don't need to take the local RN board exam that's why I did not take it.

But now, I am currently self reviewing for my IELTS Academic Purposes since my friend said that it is the one I should review rather than the General Training.

I have heard from few people that some who graduated here in the Philippines and went to the US, did not take the local board. And they took the NCLEX when they arrived in the US.

To tell you the truth, I am hopeless.

I don't know anyone who has been in my situation.

I am asking advises from my uncles but it's taking them too long to give a reply.

I am only hoping that if I pass the ielts here, then I apply for the NCLEX-RN exam and I will just be waiting for my schedule of exam in the US.

hi I'm a nurse from Philippines and I am applying for NCLEX-RN in Nevada. Does anybody know if they require TOEFL even though i'm an immigrant and is there any testing site for TOEFL in Nevada? Your reply will be highly appreciated:) GOD BLESS!!!

Hi Miraree! I'm also a US citizen and looking for amstate that does not require TOEFL. Whcih state did you apply to in the end?

I think IELTS is required for the NCLEX-RN. IELTS can be a big advantage on your part. If it's too expensive for you to review IELTS in the U.S., why not try in the Philippines? Of course having an IELTS certificate would be something to be proud of. By the way, IELTS is only valid for two years. Good luck.

CA is a State that doesn't require an English Test - BUT no State will accept you without having a SSN

Some states will accept applications without a US SSN they may however not issue a license until one is provided

In Florida no need for Ielts, because Philippines uses English as a Medium of Teaching , so its exempted for English proficiency test and the same curriculum I graduated In nursing school In Paranaque,Philippines and i got My RN licence last month and now looking for an RN JOb.. Visit Florida board of Nursing for further instruction

hi diane_05, i just wanna ask when did you apply for the NCLEX in Florida Board of Nursing? currently, I am applying for the licensure examination and i am aware that Filipino Nurses do not need to submit an english competency to be eligible. However, i recently called the Florida BON and said i have to take either TOEFL or ielts. Please help me with this. My CES is on process. I have read the instructions as well for nurses educated outside USA and to my understanding we do not need to because we used english textbooks and use English as medium of teaching. PLEASE HELP AND CLARIFY. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS.
