What To Expect At Job Fairs for Nurses

Published

Hi, I am thinking about attending a job fair for prospective nurses. I have never attended one but I know to bring my resume and nursing license. However, I don't know how the experience will be. Can anyone who has done a job fair before in healthcare enlighten me please?

Hi, I went to a job fair last night. I went on a tour of the facility, and then met with the managers of the units that are hiring. After an interview, I scheduled with HR for more information. I was there almost 2 hours!!.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to one next week and was curious as well.

how to get the most out of attending a career fair

take a sheet of address stickers with phone number listed to peel off and place on mailing lists along with pristine copies of resume!

Now that I am reading what NRSKarenRN wrote, I need to clarify. I guess I really didnt go to a job fair, more of a facility open house. So I was only dealing with one hospital.

An actual job fair may offer many opportunities, where you might walk from table to table, with many employers to talk to.

But yes, dress your best, bring lots of resumes, and your smile :)
