With school about 12 days away, was just wondering what you folks are reading up on?

My school, West Penn Hospital, gave us this math (decimals, fractions and percentages) packet to study up on.. I keep watching math professors on youtube and bought a basic math book to refresh my memory.

What about you all?

I'm studying..... NOT A D*** THING until I have to.. haha. Can you tell I have senioritis?? Honestly, I went straight thru last year, no break at all, so I'm totally enjoying the summer off, tho I am missing my nursing study buddies...it will all hit the fan soon enough tho, we start 8/25.

OK, after reading some of these posts, I feel like a giant slacker but I am studying n*o*t*h*i*n*g whatsoever except a couple of fluffy novels by the pool. My poor old brain is tired after a year of pre-reqs with no breaks and I know that once I start my ADN program in 18 days I will be swamped from Day 1.

...so I am relaxing, and doing a darn fine job of it, if I do say so myself.:yeah:

I start in 18 days also...I have been studying a lot of different stuff. My belief is that if I just get the general gist of a lot of things then I will be a head of the game. With that being said, I have read "Fluids and Electrolytes made Incredibly Easy," our school's packet on the Neuman System, I have read some into dosage math...that might be it. Oh yeah, and a bit of medterm stuff.

Yay! LOL.

The Wire, Season 3 (on DVD) :p ...while getting packed to move cross-country. Fall term starts September 2nd!

For math, our school recommended Math for Meds (Anna Curren). I have worked on it for a couple of weeks and I really liked it. The earlier chapters give all the basic stuff (decimals, fractions, etc.) but at the end they do IV math, drip rates, etc.

I would recommend it and its not too expensive. Especially if you're nervous about math.

Good luck!

I'm studying the first 12 chapters of our Pharmacology, medical calculations, medical terminology...and already finished reading "The Art of Nursing." I want as much out of the way as possible and I HATE to procrastinate.
