I was just trying to find out what songs were played at everyone's capping and pinning ceremony. Or what are some suggestions? I'm trying to compile a wide variety to present to the class. I would appreciate any and all suggestions!!!

Thanks so much!

i haven't had capping/pinning yet but here are some ideas. You can youtube search all of these songs.

The Black eyed Peas "I gotta feeling" song would be awesome. YouTube it. It was on oprah's season premiere. I think it's a really uplifting fun song. i gotta feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night

super trouper by abba/mama mia. i like the mama mia movie version better with mereyl streep -Facing twenty thousand of your friends How can anyone be so lonely Part of a success that never ends Still Im thinking about you only There are moments when I think Im going crazy But its gonna be alright Everything will be so different When Im on the stage tonight Tonight the Super trouper lights are gonna find me Shining like the sun Smiling, having fun Feeling like a number one Tonight the Super trouper beams are gonna blind me But I wont feel blue Like I always do cause somewhere in the crowd theres you

maybe miley cyrus "the climb" i don't really like miley but this song is great "the struggles i'm facing, the chances i'm taking...i may not know it, but these are the moments that i'm gonna remember most" It starts out slow but build into a triumphent crescendo, like 'i gotta feeling' does.

dancing queen by abba/mamma mia. you know this song right-right? fun song =)

what about now by daughtry

struggle no more (main event)-anthony hamilton "i don't want to stress no more...for my family" "i don't want to struggle no more" "lord help me find a way to stay strong and keep my sanity so I can provide for myself and my family" "i'm so glad they believe in me because their love it gives me energy" "and without them i couldn't make it"

umbrella by rihanna. i'm not going to post these lyrics cause you HAVE to know this song. it was everywhere a year or two ago.

walk this way by aerosmith. depends on your group

i don't wanna stop by ozzy osbourne would be cool...again, depends on your group.

stronger by kanye west (maybe get the clean version)

live your life-ti and rihanna

rise above this-seether

should I stay or should i go by the clash lol =D

here we go by nsync. yes. i'm serious =P youtube it

please don't do "i believe i can fly" or something else equally lame =D

hope this helps. let me know what you guys decide!

What?? You mean "I Believe I can Fly" is not a good song..... darnit....

:chuckle LOL!! I would NEVER suggest that one!! LOL!

I am trying to search a wide variety and so far I have:

Whenever You Remember, Carrie Underwood

The Climb, Miley Cyrus

If Today Was Your Last Day, Nickelback

Time of Your Life, David Cook

Totally didn't think of the Black Eyed Peas! I love Fergie!!!

Our instructor warned us against harsh metal, rap, and rock songs cause all of our families will be there and all that.... So we will see!!! I love some of those you suggested! They haven't said how many I need yet, but we graduate in December so I thought I would get a move on!

Thanks so much for all of those and if you think of any other songs, please let me know!!!

A guy and gal that graduated with me sang "I believe I can fly"--live--during our slide show presentation and it was GREAT--they were both accomplished singers--much better than taped music!!! We had the best ceremony!!

I just reviewed the disc they compiled for us here's ours: (btw these were done as a slide show was shown, there was a classical piece being played before we walked in, and then Pomp and Circumstance while we were entering, nothing was played during the ceremony itself or while being pinned, they read our thank yous during that)

1. I gotta feeling - Black Eyed Peas (this was just becoming pop. we graduated in June, it was great and set the mood)

2. If you're going through Hell - Rodney Atkins (v. appropriate considering :D it got a lot of smiles)

3. Livin' on a Prayer - Bon Jovi

4. Free Fallin' - Tom Petty

5. We Laughed until we Cried - Jason Aldean (this was another really cool one)

6. Back Where I Come From - Kenny Chesney

7. Stand - Rascal Flatts

8. My Wish - Rascal Flatts

9. Don't Want to Miss a Thing - Aerosmith

10. Time of Your Life - Green Day

This was the order of them, and they played the slide show both before the ceremony and after it was over for anyone that wanted to see it again/or missed it.

HTH

Awesome!! Thank you!!! I bet the version of I Believe I can Fly was much better by your fellow students!! Everyone has different taste and I know I jammed out to it back in the day, but the thought of him being indicted on sexual abuse (or was it child Media?) or some kind of charges just turns my nose up to him! LOL! Although, I don't think he was ever convicted, but STILL!! ;-)

THANK YOU SOOOO much for those songs!!! I totally forgot about Rodney Atkins..... That song is very much appropriate!! Hmmm... I am totally bringing that one up!! Although it says "hell", hopefully the instructors won't be prudes about it!!! LOL!

What do you guys think of Natasha Bedingfield - unwritten..?

we didn't play it...but we joked that "Bridge Over Troubled Waters"
