Hi Everyone!
If anyone works at/knows of a facility in St. Louis/St. Charles MO (anywhere in the Metro areas) that will train/certify a NA to CNA please let me know. Thanks!

Are you a nursing student now? If so after you take and pass Fundamentals of Nursing you can write to Jefferson City that you want to challenge the CNA test and they give permission to do so (you have to send them your transcripts). I know the place I work does let NS who have the letter from Jeff City challenge the test at their location.
Some nursing homes also do this. It's been so long since I've been an aide but when I worked at Bethesda Dilworth and Manor Grove they had the classes for free, you have to work as an aide while attending the classes though. You might check out Delmar Gardens too, I haven't worked there but I believe a friend of mine got her CNA from them.
Hope that helps some.

I agree with looking for a hospital job. They are plentiful and it's a good way to get some insight in to a facility that you may think you want to work at after graduation. Most are very flexible with their scheduling and they pay well. You can usually get as few or as many hours as you want. It's also a good way to learn a LOT about hospital nursing unless you plan on doing LTC after you graduate.
Best wishes!!
