  1. I have been calling the recruiters the last two months and they said they will get back to me because they cant pull my application. Finally thay told me the reason they didnt call me for an interview was because there was a typo on my application stating i graduate in 2011.I was referred to another recruiter and been calling and leaving messages until I said to myself.....you are not the only hospital
  2. I worked for SSM as a PRN tech and started with $12.00 that was 3yrs ago. The only requirement I had to have finished my 1st semester of nursing school.
  3. I would try delmar gardens too.If already in nursing school why not try being a tech the hospitals are more flexible and you learn alot too
  4. jumped every red light on the road and stopped at every green light........fallen asleep on the wheel......drove to my old apartment after i had just moved out......my new and old apartments were like 45min away from each other:angryfire:angryfire
  5. If am not logged on to all nurses.com, u can find me at 3am doing laundry, cleaning the house or doing my grocery shopping thats pretty normal
  6. I am looking to move to Ireland in the next one year.Do they require a Bsn or not?
  7. Are u kidding me?No supplies? What was the nurse patient ratio? Did you work days or nights?
  8. Has anyone worked at Dubuis .I am loooking for job and thinking of apllying there as a nurse
  9. I am an RN in the US working towards my BSN. I have researched about coming to the UK ans it seems pretty hard. Does anyone know anything about nursing in Ireland.Do i require a BSN. the nursing board website was not helpful
  10. you are not stupid and it is scary for the first time. my advice to you let all the nurses on your floor know that you need to perfect this skill and whenever a pt nees an IV they will ask you to do it practice practice makes perfect
  11. i was nurse at ssm and was pretty upset by the summer program.i was barely making 23/hr but they could afford nurses for that much. i tried to get a raise with no success so i just quit:angryfire
  12. I am a US nurse. I was hoping to come and work there and see how different life. I am having secondthoughts about it now. there is nothing good being said about nursing in the UK. Could it be that bad?Every job has its ups and downs but the UK nurses seem to be running away.If there is still a UK nurse who can advice me if i should move or not I would be glad.furthermore I cannot understand what band and grade mean.its all greek:monkeydance:
  13. 1. Why did you enter the nursing profession? Job security, hoping for better pay. 2. What do you like about being a nurse? That you can never be bored. There are so many areas you can work in. You can always try something different. 3. What do you not like about being a nurse? The pay 4. Do you think you get paid what you deserve? No actually I dont think I will ever get paid enough. 5. Do you think that nurses are respected by the doctors you work with? The young docs are fun to work with. They are real respectful. But some of the older docs are yet to change. Thet think I should be kissing their *** if you know what i mean. 6. What do you wish you would have learned in school to help you in the real world? How to cope with nurse aides, doctors and patient's family. They can be a pain sometimes. 7. What is the worst situation you have ever been in?Nothing so bad yet 8. What is the most rewarding thing about being a nurse? Even after the long hours, alot of of hardwork. I always feel so proud when I see a patient that came in so sick has recovered and gone home. The fact that I was part of their care makes my day. 9. Do you think new-grads should start in the ER? I think all new nurses can work anywhere If they belive it and have support. 10. Are you thinking about leaving nursing? I am not sure. I just started you know. One thing for sure is that I am not planning on doing floor nursing for so long. I am a 23yrs old female with an ASN.I work in critical care and have been an RN for a month. Good luck n your paper. Hope you join us soon
