Hello all. My unit (level III medical, mostly dealing in premies) uses Pampers diapers in sizes P-S and N (and occasionally 1 for the chronic kids). The P-S diapers look fine on the feeder-grower crowd, but I hate to see them on the very little babies. We have to roll up the fronts so that the diaper doesn't reach the armpits, creating a lump that the babies have to lie on if they're prone. Worse, there's nothing to do about the width of the diaper at the crotch, so the tiny babies' legs are forced apart. It looks very uncomfortable to me, and I doubt it's very good developmental care either.
What I'd like to see are diapers about half the size of Pampers P-S, that would fit comfortably and look sharp and dignified. Do these exist?
Thanks, Rhymeswithlibrarian
We use these. I like them much better than wee-pees.

Yesss , that's what my old hosp uses! They're cuddle buns but we called them weepees.
We use the Pampers XS, and I like them, although the tabs stick to everything when you are trying to get them on the kid. We also use another brand that is wrapped like a maxi pad, but it has a very small rise, and I don't think they hold as much.
We used to use Weepees, but I thought they weren't made anymore. Hmmmm...but I do recommend the Pampers!
EDIT - I think our other ones are those Cuddlebuns...I just checked the link. Don't you find the rise small? That's why I don't like them. Do they come wrapped in a plastic wrapper like a maxi pad?
Thanks for your comments, everybody - I've got some leads to follow
I asked a couple of long-term nurses on my unit if we had ever had smaller diapers. One said yes, and that they were great, but the hospital stopped getting them because of the expense. The other said yes, but nobody would use them because they leaked.

We use the P XS from pampers as well. I like them for the most part but...maybe it's just me.. they seem a bit wide in between the kid's legs. When I try to position the kids on their sides, their top leg sticks in the air funny and it looks uncomfy. :uhoh21: Does anybody else have this problem?
