I don't know how your other grades are, but it sounds to me like you are going to have to repeat the Micro class if you want to get into a program that requires it. I'm not sure if there if an NS school that will accept a pre-req grade under C. Grades under C usually aren't transferable. Good Luck!

shake it off. take a deep breath and enroll in micro again. find a student who did well on the tests and get a copy of their notes. if you want it that bad it will all work out -just hang in there and take it one day at a time. if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.:wink2:

I had to retake chem to turn a B into an A. I know its frustrating, but has to be done anyway. You will do better the second time around. Try to figure out ways to relax before the tests because you don't want to have to repeat it a 3rd time.

What you are going through is frustrating-no way around that. Feel this for a bit, but get out of your rut/negative label asap. Decide not to think of yourself as a failure, and don't compare to other people. Also, don't focus on the difficulties of the competition re getting into school. All this is negative energy. Don't get used to it by thinking about it.

When you retake your class, start fresh. Don't for any moment think of your D or any of the struggles of that class. Learn from it, and be honest with yourself about doing things differently so you can get an A (you did get a D for some reason-be starkly honest and only you know why). You sound smart and there's no reason why YOU shouldn't be the one to get into nursing school! Just find your formula so you show it (unfortunately, the "game" currently involves showing high grades, so play it). GOOD LUCK!

All i can say is, "get ready for another round of micro." This time I would look at your old tests and try to identify factors that made you receive those unfavorable grades, For example, sometimes i find myself thiking way to much about simple straightforward questions, so now everytime i come across a question i tell myself to answer the best i can based on strict facts i know to be true and not to second guess myself. You also have prior knowledge of the subject and you also know that you'll probably do really well with the lab portion, so tackle those test the best you can and try to relax.:D

Sounds like your problem isn't one of knowledge base but test taking skills. PLEASE take my advise and seek out a cless in test taking before you waste any more time and $$ screwing up your GPA. Lots of people have difficulty proving what they know on tests. A good course in this skill will serve you well throughout your education and with NCLEX. Your student advisor should be able to point you in the right direction. If not there are a number of third party businesses that offer this class.
