  1. like everyone said before if you have any dobut that you can't handle the patient by yourself then i would also recommend you ask for help. But if i were to give advice to you i would say, you could try using some pillows to support their back and legs i've seen some cnas do it this way or you could also ask if they can help you and hold onto the bed railing.
  2. All i can say is, "get ready for another round of micro." This time I would look at your old tests and try to identify factors that made you receive those unfavorable grades, For example, sometimes i find myself thiking way to much about simple straightforward questions, so now everytime i come across a question i tell myself to answer the best i can based on strict facts i know to be true and not to second guess myself. You also have prior knowledge of the subject and you also know that you'll probably do really well with the lab portion, so tackle those test the best you can and try to relax.
  3. It's not necesssary to take it in order to do well in your a and p classes. After taking it in the summer before i took a and p, i found out that it helped some. If it's a pre-req go ahead and take it. I think it's a good idea in the long run to take it if your geting in to nursing- you'll want all the knowledge you can get in your orificenal before entering nursing school. Also abbreviations are constantly used in reports so it helped in that repect. If your a self learner then it would probably be a better idea just to purchcase a book and study from it. That way it will save you precious time.
  4. Hey nepenthe sea, i just like to give my experiences i had taking these two classes together. Like everybody says it will certainly be hard. My micro teacher forwarned us in advance and said that if we were taking a and p also, we should think about dropping one or the other. During that time i was taking 3 classes, nutrition, micro, and a and p. I ended up with an A, B, and B. It wasn't easy though- I'm a huge procrastinator and ended up with sleepless nights just to maintain my grade, but somehow i made it. Maybe it was due to the fact that i didn't work during that semester. I'll just say that if you allocate enough time to studying the material and stay on top of grades it is certainly doable, but if you start to notice a trend where one or both grades are getting progressively lower than maybe you should start thinking about dropping one class. A lot of people who were in my a and p classes were also in my micro class, and what i noticed was 3/4 through the semester most of them had dropped. ... All i can say is to stay on top of studying and GOOD LUCK!
