What do you have each semester in Nursing School?

Published

I dunno how to word a better title for this thread, sorry...:saint:

So i was wondering, what do u guys have each semester?

for example, In my school they will have it like this:

1st semester- Fundamentals

2nd - Med-surg

3rd - Psych

4th - Pedia and Oby

I'm just curious, coz i often read that most schools have their med-surg during 3rd semester, and we will already have it on the 2nd....isn't it odd? or do u guys also have it on that sem?

btw, i haven't start school yet, we will have our first day on August 30!:yeah:

I'm excited and nervous at the same time, hope i'll survive! coz i heard how hard it is...:chair:

Every schools curriculum is different. At the school I attend 2nd year we take Fundamentals, 3rd year its Med Surg, Patho, Maternity and Peds and 4th yr its Psych, Research, and Community Nursing....Good luck in school it will be challenging but as long as you study hard and stay focused you will succeed. By the way I will be a Junior starting Aug 30th.

Ours goes like this -

1 Foundations, health assesment

2 Pharmacology, adult health

3 Adult health 2, mental health

4 adult 3, maternal/newborn

5 adult 4, child/teen

6 integrated nursing

I am very, very scared of pharmacology!!

You only listed the classes with clinicals so I'm just going to list those but I do have other classes besides these.

1st Semester: Fundamentals

2nd: Psych, OB

3rd: Med-Surg I, Peds, Leadership/Management

4th: Med-surg II, Community and a specialty preceptorship of our choosing.

I start an accelerated 1.5 year diploma school with trimesters in January:

2nd: Nursing Care of Individuals Experiencing Cellular Imbalance & Pathophysiologic Approach to Nursing Pharmacology

3rd:Peds & L&D
