What science classes helped you prepare for Anatomy & Physiology?

Published

Hi guys, I am finishing up 6 credit hours taking English 101 & General Psychology for Summer term. I know Anatomy & Physiology I & II is a prerequisite for nursing school. What helped you all prepare for Anatomy & Physiology? Was it General Chemistry or General Biology. I just want to make sure I prepare myself well for Anatomy & Physiology I & II when I enroll in the class. Advice and opinions are greatly appreciated.

I'm currently in nursing school. Biology may help a little. I took Anatomy and Physiology separately over two semesters; from what I remember, there may have been a brief review over cellular biology at the very beginning of each semester but all subsequent content was brand new to me (aside from random, general knowledge I picked up over the years). Chemistry has not helped me whatsoever, not even for pharmacology (because we never get that deep into medication structure; it's 99% medication effects on the body/body's effects on the medication). Some schools require it, however.

You can start prepping yourself on Khan Academy videos/content.

Chemistry helped me, but I could have been successful without it.

It seems like A&P classes are really built up and therefore intimidating, but they really aren't as bad as they are made out to be (IMO). It was a lot of material, but not unmanageable.

Microbiology has helped with the cellular respiration part of A&P. Other than that, nothing has realistically prepared me for it.
