As per the Terms of Service allnurses is an all English site...no text speak please.

Just know that everyone has only three (3) years to complete the deficient courses (evidenced by the approved schools certificate or transcripts) from the initial date of the application or else, the CA BRN will simply "abandon" your files, since if they see no further activity on your application, they can only assume that you're unable to finish the application or gave up.

Yes, you do lose all your application fees after the third year.

Yes, you must re-start the ENTIRE process all over with a brand application, brand new transcripts, brand new documentations and brand new fee$.

Yes, you must deal again with your school and if they were not too helpful before or very slow, then, be prepared. Just be sure for now that you ASK or DEMAND, your school will still KEEP your records as there's been several posters who have said their schools will NOT maintain their record files beyond the 3rd or 4th year after your graduation.

Yes, you must be prepared if the CA BRN has new educational requirements, new other regulations, etc.

Yes, you must be prepared that if you do not possess a PH local nursing license, the CA BRN may no longer accept the excuse that as a US citizen or a dual citizen to be waived the requirement to provide your nursing license from the country you obtained the BSN.

With the little to no demand for international nurses in today's market and given the high unemployment rate of CA nurses (new grads in particular), I would not be surprised if the CA BRN took steps to reduce the applications from outside the US borders.

It is not the CA BRN responsibility to maintain your files too long as they have many others that are waiting to get their own applications processed but they are already most likely going to be approved (usually CA grads, CA nurses, out of state applications, etc). There's no extension either at this point, I know others have tried and have been notified that it's not possible especially with a few thousands a month they must work on.
