I know other businesses such as retail, it's not a good idea to go on the weekends since they're so busy during those times, and offices it's better to go on Monday vs going on Friday right before they close. Is there a good time to go into a nursing home to apply, and a certain time to avoid? Obviously I know you shouldn't go in at Tuesday at 3 am.

Hard to say...You would have to go to the office I am sure to pick up the aplication. Nurses and CNAs will not be doing this for you. Maybe you could call them sometime during bussiness hours and say you are intrested in putting in a application for a job and wondered when would be the best time to come and pick one up. Also many places have aplications online now as well so you would not even have to go down there till they call you for an interview. Good Luck

I think this is the best way. You might even be surprised with an interview and a job offer if they are given a chance to expect you.

Go to the facility, definitely, especially if its a nursing home...but be dressed and prepared to interview on the spot, resume in hand. I did this, and it's how I landed my first CNA position.
I'm starting to learn that going to the facility is the best way to go. So far I've been doing more online apps, and I think my resume gets lost in the shuffle, also I think a lot of places here in Colorado want people to come in and apply to make sure the applicant can read and write English, and isn't having someone else do it for them.
Thanks everyone for your help!

Apply in person during banker's hours (Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm) because the people who do the hiring in nursing homes typically work these hours, whether it's the DON, ADON, administrator, or staffing coordinators.

Yes definitely go in like pp said, resume and dressed nice. I would go during normal business hours and ask to turn in your app to the person who does the hiring or just tell the office that you want to introduce yourself.

Ditto going in person. I would go in the morning.
A good time of yr to apply is right around the corner. July/August is considered the best time of the yr to apply for CNA jobs. My last job i applied in the end of June, and they called me a wk later.
